CLUB REGO 

Membership 

Both Historic Vehicle (HVS) and Classic Vehicle Scheme (CVS) rego are available through our club for current members and their vehicles. Below is an overview of the differences between each scheme and how each scheme applies to our club.
Each of these schemes offered via our club are a privilege for our members. If any member is found to be abusing this privilege in any way (eg, but not limited to: Not adhering to the conditions of registration, falsifying records, changes being made to the vehicle that would exclude the vehicle from being eligible for the scheme) the scheme may not be offered to that member by decision of the club committee. 
. If you operate your vehicle outside the requirements of this scheme you may be found to be operating an unregistered vehicle and be liable to the penalties that apply due to operating an unregistered vehicle and uninsured(CTP) vehicle.

Historic Vehicle Scheme (HVS):
Eligibility

• The vehicle operator must be a financial member of The Volvo Car Club of NSW
• The vehicle must be 30 years of age or older as from the year of manufacture. (Eg as at 1st January 2019 any vehicle manufactured in 1989 is considered to be 30 yrs old)
• The vehicle must be close to manufacturer’s original specifications and period options. Additional safety features such as seat belts and turn indicators are allowed. LHD to RHD converted vehicles that are NEW applicants for HVS require engineers certification documents for the conversion. Existing conversions already on HVS are allowed without certification.  

Using a vehicle on HVS 

• Historic vehicles can be used for events organised by recognised historic vehicle clubs, or
Events run by community organisations for which official invitation has been recorded by the club in the official Minutes or Club magazine (must be present in the vehicle).
• Historic vehicles can also be used on a road or road related area for:
  • Servicing within a short distance from their place of garaging
  • The inspection of the vehicle.
• For longer journeys the operator must notify their club so details are recorded in the official Minutes or 'Day Book'.
• HVS vehicles nominated for the Log Book system may be used for 60 days of general use (ie maintenance and personal use) each year, outside of club organised events. Each day’s use must be recorded in a log book issued by the RMS prior to use of the vehicle each day.  

Classic Vehicle Scheme (CVS):
 Eligibility

• The vehicle operator must be a financial member of The Volvo Car Club of NSW
• The vehicle must be 30 years of age or older as from the year of manufacture. (Eg as at 1st January 2019 any vehicle manufactured in 1989 is considered to be 30 yrs old)
• The vehicle must comply with the relevant vehicle standards in NSW including any modifications to the vehicle (ref RMS VSI-6) 

Using a vehicle on CVS

• Classic vehicles can be used for events organised by recognised historic vehicle clubs, or Events run by community organisations for which official invitation has been recorded by the club in the official Minutes or Club magazine (must be present in the vehicle).
• CVS vehicles nominated for the Log Book system may be used for 60 days of general use (ie maintenance and personal use) each year, outside of club organised events. Each day’s use must be recorded in a log book issued by the RMS prior to use of the vehicle each day.  

Registration Process
HVS - New Registration 

o Complete the following:
  •  Application for Conditional Registration (RMS Form 1246)
  •  Historic Vehicle Declaration (RMS Form 1259)
  •  Obtain a AIS Safety Inspection (Pink Slip)
o Contact the Club Registrar (Boyd Symington) email: registrar@volvocarclubnsw.com.au)to arrange an inspection of the vehicle and to have your forms stamped and signed.
o Attend an RMS or Service NSW office and submit the forms to register your vehicle 

HVS – Registration Renewal

o Complete the Historic Vehicle Declaration (RMS Form 1259)
o Obtain a AIS Safety Inspection (Pink Slip)
o Contact the Club Registrar (Boyd Symington email: registrar@volvocarclubnsw.com.au)  to arrange an inspection of the vehicle and to have your forms stamped and signed.
o Attend an RMS or Service NSW office and submit the forms to register your vehicle 

CVS - New Registration 

o Complete the following:

o Contact the Club Registrar (Boyd Symington email: registrar@volvocarclubnsw.com.au) to arrange an inspection of the vehicle and to have your forms stamped and signed.
o Submit the completed forms to ACMC with payment (Ref ACMC New Registration Details).
o Once forms returned from ACMC, attend an RMS or Service NSW office and submit the forms to register your vehicle. 

CVS – Registration Renewal
